Many thanks @AmitP_704!
My Shuttle SG31G2 cube is fitted with a Marvell Yukon 88E8056 gigabit network controller and it was happily working with Windows 7 x 64bit with the latest marvel driver 12.10.14.3. This included the WOL functionality, which I use all the time.
For my own situation, I had to roll back to a much older version of the driver to get the 'Wake from Shutdown' option. Once I did, that worked out perfectly.
- Marvell Ethernet Yukon driver for Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows XP - ThinkCentre / ThinkStation.
- Download drivers for Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller network cards (Windows 7 x64), or install DriverPack Solution software for automatic driver download and update.
I am running Windows Server 2016, but had to go with a Windows 7 x64 driver to get the setting. The more recent Windows 8 driver (which although it doesn't say it in the title, is also for Windows Server 2012 R2), did not have the setting so did not solve the problem.
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks for this reply, in order for the extra shutdown setting to appear I ended up using driver version 11.44.1.3 downloaded from here...
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/downloads/ds029166
...then manually updated to the windows 7x64 version once it had unzipped to my drive.
I run a Shuttle sp35p2 (non-pro) with the 88e8056 Ethernet controller on Windows 10 Home.
..And I did all the following steps:
1) BIOS
- ACHI Power setting = S3
- Power on by PCI Card = enabled
2) DEVICE Manager
Advance Settings
Gigabit Lan Driver
- Enable wake on Magic Packet
- Enable wake on pattern match
- Wake-Up Capabilities - 'Magic Packet & Pattern'
Power Management
- Allow the computer to turn off the computer - enabled
- Allow this device to wake the computer - enabled
- Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer - enabled
3) WINDOWS POWER SETTINGS
- Disabled fast startup
Ethernet Controller Driver Windows 7
4) WORKS WITH BOTH - SUSPEND and SHUTDOWN
Marvell 8001 Gigabit Ethernet Controller Driver Windows 7 Download
5)Also Works both locally and over the internet
Marvell 8001 Gigabit Ethernet Controller Driver Windows 7 Update
NB - Also note Windows Firewall blocked my Magic packet sniffer from checking this was being received so I completely disabled this for testing (still blocked even if I had setup an incoming connection for this) - but once setup and re-enabled this does NOT interfere with turning my PC on via WOL.
