Left 4 Dead was released on November 18th, 2008 to critical acclaim. The survival horror/action FPS frantic zombie mayhem caught the hearts of many with Valve's typical attention to detail and superb level of polish.
The gameplay centres around co-operative elements as a team of 4 unique characters help each other through the zombie apocalypse and all the variations of the infection that they encounter.
Left 4 Dead provides several difficulty modes. Easy through Advanced form a normal difficulty curve, and are fairly easy to master on the campaign (where 4 human players take on AI controlled infected). We won't be playing on those modes, to keep things a little more interesting we're going to be playing on Expert. In Expert you die very easily and you have to be careful not only of the enemies but of your own team-mates - friendly fire is a real danger.
The core game consists of 4 'movie' like campaigns. No Mercy, Death Toll, Blood Harvest, Dead Air. Each campaign has 5 maps which are structured relatively similarly, we'll see as we go along. Playing along with me are Blister, cKnoor and EthanSteele
There's actually quite a lot to l4d, so if there are any questions you have about anything at all, then feel free to ask. We'll try and explain things as we go in the videos.
We'll be updating 2-3 times a week, and we'll be covering the main campaigns as well as some versus games, other games modes and custom maps. Without further ado, let's get started!
